We went on a short trip last weekend and got a bit behind on the gardening. Since getting home, I’ve been trying to catch up on some other things, so other than picking a few tomatoes, I haven’t been out to work in the garden. Until today that is!!! And look what I came back in with 🙂

I really wasn’t sure how the garden would do this year, but apparently we did something right. I’ve already got several bags of zucchini in the freezer and a few jars of pickled zucchini stored for the winter. We have a ton more peppers that should be ready to pick in the next couple of days, a lot more cucumber blooms, small zucchini and squash that will be ready soon as well. And don’t get me started on the tomatoes. We have hundreds and hundreds of green tomatoes that are beginning to ripen. Lili planted a few carrots and those will need to be dug up before much longer.
The weeds have gotten a bit out-of-control, so getting the garden cleaned up is a necessity as is planting for a fall harvest.
I’m going to be very busy over the next few weeks picking, pulling, freezing and canning. With that said, I’m off to can some pickled peppers!!!
Debbie, your crop is amazing. Lot of work paid off nicely.
Still lots of work to do, but the hard work is paying off.
I am so impressed! I am struggling to keep a couple herbs alive…and we have had more rain this summer than ever before. Just call me Black Thumb.
There is a learning curve to gardening and I have every confidence that you can become a successful gardener.
