Busy Month of Celebration

June is a busy month of celebration in the World of Weeks.

First, we celebrated is this beautiful young lady’s birthday.

It wasn’t just any birthday this year though. It was her golden birthday!!!!

She celebrated by having friends and family come over for a little party. After the party was over, we headed out with friends to see other friends perform in Spongebob the Musical.

She is already planning her Sweet 16 celebration for next year.

The following day we celebrated this guy on Father’s Day.

He puts up with a lot from our crew and Father’s Day didn’t turn out the way he hoped. It’s hard to follow your daughter’s golden birthday celebration, but he is very much loved and appreciated. Although it probably doesn’t seem like it often.

Two days later we had our final June celebration when our little man turned the big 3.

Between the golden birthday celebration and Father’s Day there was no big celebration for him. Just a quiet family affair with gifts, his choice of meals, cake and ice cream.

Unfortunately, not everything was a celebration in June.

This young lady has spent months perfecting her cartwheel and splits. Then she worked on back bends and kick overs. She took her skills outside to our climbing dome where she learned how to hang upside down from the bars. Then one day she thought it would be fun to try something new on the climbing dome. Sadly, the trick didn’t go as planned. The dome isn’t very high and she wasn’t at the top, but the fall caused her to fracture her elbow. Fortunately, she will only need the cast for a couple weeks and then a sling for another week.

I would like to believe that she will slow down on the flips and tricks once her elbow has healed. The reality is that she will get brave enough to try again. Gymnastics classes are most definitely in her future.

Hopefully the rest of the month will be less hectic and full of fun.
