Little Things Are Big Things for Others

One of the things I enjoy about travel is the experience of interacting with people in different parts of the world. For me, it’s a reminder of how fortunate I am to have opportunities that others around the world don’t have. Little things that I take for granted are big things for others.

If you read my last blog post, you know that Lili and I had to cancel our trip to Guatemala due to some medical problems I began experiencing about a week before we were due to leave. Other than being able to see our Familia en Guatemala, I was so looking forward to delivering bunkbeds. I don’t know for sure how much money Lili and I personally raised toward providing bunkbeds, but I do know that our team was able to provide 52 bunk beds to families in need. That is at least 104 children who won’t be sleeping on a floor or a mat or a cot. At least 104 children now have a safe, warm and comfortable bed to go to each night.

For those who contributed, Lili and I THANK YOU!!! The families THANK YOU! The children THANK YOU! This is one of those little things that is a big thing for 104 children in another part of the world.

Thankfully the team has shared photos of some of the bunk bed project and I’m sharing with you so you can see the joy you helped bring to many. I’m also sharing some photos of the beautiful country in which Lili was born. A place where beauty and poverty collide. A place where needs are many and the people who live there are amazing and resilient beyond words.
