Moments of Realization

You know those moments when you suddenly realize how much something has changed and how much you are really enjoying that change?  I’ve had one of those moments today.

Lili is 5 years and 4 months old.  Naomi is 3 years and 2 months old.  They now have many moments during the day when they actually enjoy each others company.  They enjoy playing together.  They have each other and they enjoy having each other.  They are able to entertain each other during moments of the day.  It’s these moments that allow me to do things like blog about my ‘Moments of Realization’ without interruption because they are getting along and having fun.

It’s not that it just suddenly started today.  No, it’s actually been going on for a while now, but it’s hit that next level.  That level in which they have found common interests and work together as a team in an effort to have fun, to enjoy each other, and enjoy life together.

That is my moment of realization today and I’m going to spend some time enjoying the moment because I know it won’t last forever 🙂

In Case You’re Wondering

For those who were wondering just how long it took Lili to change her tune about Naomi being the ‘best baby sister.’  The bickering didn’t begin until about 4:45 that afternoon.  Granted, a couple of hours of that was taken up by naps, but it sure was nice to see the two of them loving each other.

For those who are wondering about our weekend.  We are going to be in the North Dallas area visiting family, boating, fishing, swimming and eating Ethiopian food.  It’s going to be a quick trip, but we are very much looking forward to some time away in the heat and sun.

For those who are wondering about homeschooling.  Things are going well.  Lili’s reading and math skills continue to improve.  Naomi has started doing some workbooks and is very pleased with herself.   She very much enjoys math time, which consists of counting games like “Hi Ho Cherry-O.”  We are looking forward to cooler weather and several nature walks as we explore the wonderful world of bugs.

For those who are wondering about foster care.  We have not received another placement.  For a matter-of-fact, we’ve not even gotten a phone call.   Honestly, we’re not quite sure where we want to go from here regarding foster care, so no calls is a good thing right now.

For those who are wondering.  This is the end of the post.
