Happy Retirement

After almost 20 years with this company, 4 years of military service and other jobs before and in between, Hubby is spending his last few hours wrapping up some final works stuff and just like that, he will be retired.  Retirement was always the plan, but due to the offer of a Voluntary Retirement package offered by the company he works for, retirement was earlier than planned.

While Hubby is retiring from his current employer, he won’t completely be retired.  It would be fair to say that he is simply ending one chapter and writing the next.

Like I shared in a previous post Welcoming the Next Phase of Life – worldofweeks, we started our own business, DW Clarity Group.  While doing some type of work during the first few years of retirement was in the plan, starting our own company was not a topic of discussion until a few months ago.  Then the offer of the retirement package landed in his lap, and we sped up the process of getting our business started.  So far, it’s going better than we anticipated.  He will only have a few days of post-retirement life before he jets off to New York for an unexpected offer of business for DW Clarity Group.  He will also be working on growing our business then he teaches his first 3-day class.  It’s nice to see some business success this early in the game.

What other plans does Hubby have during his retirement years?

In addition to training for DW Clarity Group, he will be working through his ever-growing Honey Do list.  We also have travel plans – 4 cruises booked and plans being made for a European vacation sometime next year.  Unfortunately, there will be a slight interruption when he goes in for surgery next month for a shoulder repair.  Once surgery and recovery are over, life for him should be much better.

Happy Retirement to Hubby!  I am looking forward to this next phase of life and all the adventures it will bring.
