Where Do You Call Home?

My friend Katie has recently been blogging about their adventures in homelessness.  Not that they are really homeless, but they have recently been displaced from their rental property and have been looking for a new place to call home.

Today, she blogged about returning to the place they love.  The place they can call home and her post was a reminder that we don’t have that feeling of home right now.

For years, hubby and I have been looking for that place we can call home.  Not that we don’t have a home here.  After all, we have a house, kids, dogs, a garden, etc.  But this place doesn’t feel like ‘home’.   At one time it did, but it hasn’t felt like home for a very long time now.  As such, we feel very unsettled.  We feel unsettled because we know we aren’t living in an area we enjoy.  We aren’t where we are supposed to be.  Unfortunately, we haven’t discovered that special place that says “Home”.  We haven’t found that place that calls us back time and time again.  A place that puts a big smile on our faces and makes us relax every time we ride into town.

Does that place exist for us?  I’m not sure, but I am most definitely willing to keep searching because I do love to travel and see new places.

Or, is it that love of travel and adventure that causes me to not feel settled in one place?  Again, I don’t have the answer to that question, but if we can ever get Georgette out of her service garage jail cell, I’m more than happy to try to find the answer once and for all.

What about you?  Where do you call home?
